Interstate 99 Environmental Research
Project Detail
Task B
Hydrologic Monitoring and Modeling |
The primary focus of Task B is to perform monitoring and modeling to evaluate
the hydrologic regime associated with the highway cut areas, the downslope
wetlands, and the mechanism used to maintain groundwater flow to the wetlands
(i.e., infiltration galleries). The developed model, which is to be calibrated
using the field monitoring data, will be used to evaluate, explain and predict
the effectiveness of the infiltration galleries in maintaining groundwater flow
to the downslope wetlands. The objective is to develop a model that can be
applied at the I-99 project to reliably predict future hydrologic impacts to the
wetlands and thereby reduce costly monitoring efforts, and can be used as well
in the design of other projects with similar conditions. The Hydrologic
Monitoring and Modeling is comprised of four tasks:
| Task B-1 |
Review and Watershed Models |
| Task B-2 |
Modifying the Adopted Model or Models – Experimental Data of Validation of Watershed Models |
| Task B-3 |
Use of the Adopted Models for Prediction |
| Task B-4 |
